What is the mentoring program? |
Royal Family KIDS Mentoring Programs are for any child 6-12 years of age that attended Royal Family KIDS Camp. Throughout the school year campers and their mentors attend a once a month mentoring club meeting. Mentoring club is a place where a camper can reconnect with many of the participating staff members from camp as well as build lasting friendships with the other mentoring program kids.
Royal Family KIDS Mentoring Programs provide positive relationships throughout the school year! |
We are so honored to have been given a mini labradoodle by Valerie Thomas from MindfulnessTherapyDogs for our very own Royal Family KIDS camp dog!
This will benefit our organization for the children in so many ways: lessening stress, helping them relax when they are scared, and help relieve their anxiety. Since animals seem to serve as social facilitators our camp dog will probably help encourage movement, interaction, and socialization. Animals are so comforting, calming, playful, and bring so much joy to us humans; this is exactly what I think these young children who have been through so much trauma need in their lives!! Needless to say this little girl is going to have a big impact on these kiddos! Welcome to the family! |
